In our third Reader’s Rides segment—I’m stoked to unveil to the world a new custom Haro Klunkerson. Submitted by Josh, I give you the latest RR on Klunkers.ca:
I’m always stoked, and a bit jealous, when a new Haro Klunkerson build comes my way. Obviously, as a Klunkerson rider myself, I can take inspiration… but ultimately I’m always more likely to be a bit humbled by the ingenuity and style other Klunker builders can craft.
Case in point, check out Josh’s Klunkerson. In his own words, “Wherever possible I tried to use Haro parts. Some of what I did is for style, some for function.”
It worked. Here’s rundown of his parts list:
- Haro Group 1, 165mm cranks (colour matched)
- Haro Dennis Enarson Signature Flat Pedals
- Haro Legends color matched 39T front sprocket
- Haro Lineage color matched stem
- Halo 19T rear sprocket
- Old school style NON-lever seat post clamp (so people can’t just walk up and steal the next part…)
- Combination dropper seat post/suspension seat post
- The Shadow Conspiracy Maya Grips
- Greenfield kickstand

Anything left to add? Josh says, “I might cut the bars to make them a couple inches narrower—they are pretty wide. Not installed yet, siting in my garage—hookworm tires for smoother urban riding.”
I like where your head’s at, Josh. Ride on.
